In a dark cellar, we see only think wooden support beams. A spider slowly crawls down the beam in front of us. Beethovens “Fur Elise” plays quietly from somewhere in the dark. The camera slowly spins in the darkness. A single bulb hangs from the ceiling, only barely illuminating the back of a man that sits on a wooden stool facing the wall. He slowly sings quietly
Ashes……..ashes………
Speaking softly now
When we are young we are taught that there is good and there is evil. That the evil is immorality and sin. Gluttony and greed. Jealousy and hate.
We learn that that evil is to be pushed away and silenced. That it is not to become part of who we are. We begin to learn these things, these foundations of life at such a young age that it is easily engrained in our minds that we are not to be that evil. That society is better suited with gentleman….with ladies.
As we grow we hear stories of those who do not abide by these accepted “morals”. We see first hand these people who are “different”. We look upon them and cast them out of our society. We wonder what went wrong and when. We look upon them from our alter of morality and we cast judgement upon this “Monster” that behaves in such an outrageous manner. We banish him to live out the rest of his life in misery. We are happiest when these bodies are no longer in a position to cause us harm. When these men are left to fend for themselves, far away from a society that they have no place in.
But a mind is a dangerous thing to be left alone with…………………
I sometimes wondered what happens to that evil when it is pushed away and silenced when it is young. I was like you at some point. I believed that there was good and there was bad. I believed that good was the way to happiness and evil only paved the road to misery.
But I was different. I saw through it all. I saw through the thin veil that society casts over facts that are so glaringly obvious that it is painful to see that so many don’t see them. That the evil inside doesn’t just leave. It lives inside in that dark cold place in the bowels of your soul. A place so dark it is almost non existant.
But it exists. Ohhhhh it exists. And in it lives that suppressed evil. An evil that, if nurtured would become as strong as you wish it to be. Inside every one of you lives that evil. That monster just waiting to be loved…embraced….accepted.
I’m coming

Quietly singing again
We all…fall…down….
