The scene opens up inside Frank Washington’s second (and original) home of New Orleans, Louisiana inside his personal gym. The gym itself was converted from a garage and while the exercise machines were slightly outdated they were still in great condition as they were treated with great care over the years. Frank could be seen wearing a pair of black gym shorts and an Emerald Academy t-shirt as he can be seen sitting down on a bench with a white towel around his neck. Sweat ran down his forehead as he just finished an intense workout, the lights reflecting off of it before he wipes it away with the towel.
Frank Washington: I guess there’s no sense in exercising diplomacy with some people and letting the past stay in the past when they’re hell bent on destruction. I could sit here and repeat myself all day and run down the rap sheet of why Badger and I absolutely can’t stand each other but I’d just be playing the part of a broken record. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past – I’ve done things I’m not proud of and as much as I’d love to go back to the past and stop it from happening? I know that’s just not realistic and sooner or later karma will rear its head, but you had to let it grow didn’t you? Instead of coming to me as a man privately to settle our past you had to air dirty laundry on MSW television, you had to get involved in my business and try to take my livelihood away from me.
Frank shakes his head as he looks down at the floor wearing a wry smile. A flood of emotions ran through his mind from remorse to hatred racing at 100mph. His past actions against his once and future rival haunted him, constantly eating away at him inside looking back at the man he once was. Hatred also flowed through him freely knowing that Badger was trying to end his career as revenge for actions against him years ago while he was incarcerated. Bad blood certainly ran deep and when you try to end another man’s career inside the squared circle it was a recipe to take a personal grudge to a whole new level.
Frank Washington: The truth of the matter is Badger; we’ve both done some horrible things. You’re trapped in the past and while you’re trying to see the monster inside the man I used to be… you’ve become ignorant to your own within. You’ve allowed your demons to win within you, prison changed you. Somewhere along the way you let “Boss Warden” Walt Wisdom get his way.
Frank falls silent for a few moments as he continues to stare at the floor. Walton Wisdom was the warden of the Walton Correctional Facility where Garland was housed, a prison steaming with corruption. Walton Wisdom ran the facility more like a mafia don, pulling strings, calling in favors to make maximum profit. Frank was but a cog in the machine that enjoyed a great degree of freedom but at the end of the day Walton Wisdom was the man calling the shots to personally milk every last cent out of his meal ticket. Finally Frank looks back up at the camera as he wears that wry smile like a man ready to visit the guillotine knowing that one of them may eventually end up on that proverbial chopping block.
Frank Washington: You know the saying be careful what you wish for? Well you’re going to get your wish Garland, at Best of the Best we will square off in that ring. Just like I told Alex Smith a month ago in that locker room after Unstoppable, it’s going to be a full blown war. Danny Stevenson might as well tell the referee to stay out in the back and not even come down to ringside because we’re not going to wrestle, we’re here to fight! Blood will flow freely, Mr. Stevenson with all due respect you don’t understand what beast you’re unleashing upon Missouri State Wrestling and I can only apologize in advance for they mayhem that will ensue.
Frank gets up from the bench taking a few steps towards the camera. A steely focus reflected in his eyes as he became all business, temporarily setting aside the animosity towards Robert Garland.
Frank Washington: But before I can take care of Badger, I have to face Milanor Garnet. I told Danny Stevenson to put me against anyone he felt fitting to step in between those ropes, to me it didn’t matter so long as I got my match. I don’t know if he’s down in Hollywood shooting his next Direct-To-DVD film or back in the cutting room but he better bring his “A Game” if he hopes to make it past me. Johnny St. Tuck got the win of a lifetime over me in his debut match after an assist but I’ll give the devil his due. He saw an opening and he seized it to make a name for himself, but lightning doesn’t strike twice. When Unstoppable rolls around you’ll be facing a man looking to unleash a little excess frustration built up over the last several months. Whether you’ve been wrestling a few months or 10 years I’ll be looking to exploit the flaws in your technique and ring psychology and take full advantage.
Frank sets the towel down on the bench as he starts to walk towards the exit however he stops to look back towards the camera.
Frank Washington: Robert Garland, Travis Rech I hope you watch this match very closely and take notes because it’ll only be a small taste for what’s in store for Best of the Best.
With that the camera abruptly fades to black.
