The scene opens up in Frank’s own personal gym inside his garage in New Orleans. Having taken time to gather his thoughts and opening up about his demons to Shawna Martinez was rather therapeutic to him. Unlike several days prior when he appeared to be a broken and defeated man one could see new life and determination in The Revolutionary as he threw a series of punches and kicks at a punching bag. Sweat could be seen dripping down his face and drenching the Emerald Academy t-shirt he was wearing as he continued his assault with aggression. His fingerless, MMA styled black gloves appear to be showing some wear and tear as he’d been training aggressively for a better part of a day. After several more flurries of kicks he takes a break to grab a towel off a chair to wipe the sweat off his face before turning to the camera.
Frank Washington: I’ll admit Badger; you almost defeated me mentally before our match at Best of the Best… almost. Your thirst for violence and revenge is real but I should’ve seen you trying to take a page out of my book. This industry is both physical and mentally demanding, to be the best in that squared circle you need to keep your mind clear at all times and your body in peak condition if you hope to stand alongside the best whoever laced up a pair of boots. If I would’ve stayed in the funk I was in you’d eat me alive, chew me up and spit my bloody remains out. But I also know you’re not stupid and your buddy Travis “don’t call me Bobo” Rech is a very shrewd businessman and let’s be honest it didn’t take a psychic to show you managed to get inside my head. Unfortunately for you however this “snake” awoke from his slumber, ready to strike.
He hangs the towel around his neck as he reaches down to crack open a bottle of pink lemonade Gatorade. Taking a few quick drinks from the bottle he places it down on the chair next to him with a confident smirk.
Frank Washington: Honestly I’m getting a little tired of the “victim” card you keep playing and beating to death like a dead horse every single week. You keep trying to have it both ways by trying to play both the sinner and the saint; one minute you’re bringing up my past to condemn me for the man I used to be but the next you’re taking this war to people like Daniel Smart who have no business in this rivalry! You crossed the line from being a street vigilante to being a monster devoid of remorse or reason! If I’m truly evil like you paint me to be then you yourself are an even greater evil.
Frank slowly undoes the Velcro on his gloves as he slips them off his hands. Although his hands were wrapped in white athletic tape his knuckles were completely stained by his own blood, having gone raw hours ago from the intense training. He stares at his hands for a moment before tightly balling his hands into fists in front of him. Despite all the pain he was in both physically and mentally his resolve was forged in a renewed passion and determination to win what may be the biggest fight of his entire life. He knew when it came to Best of the Best he was fighting for his career and very survival.
Frank Washington: I’m done living in the past! No matter what I do I can’t change the past and take back what happened but I can sure as hell fight for tomorrow. My only regret is that this war had to come to MSW because the fans and that front office deserve something better than a bloodbath. They deserve to see the best wrestling in the world today, to see men and women fighting for respect and the spirit of competition true to the traditional values this company were founded upon.
Frank shakes his head solemnly, keeping his steely gaze locked on at the camera the entire time.
Frank Washington: But you got your way Badger, be careful what you wish for. I have all the respect in the world for Danny, Drew, and Justin but for the good of this company I request that they don’t even bother sending a referee down to that ring. Despite what the contract may read you’re not going to get a wrestling match out of us, just two men who absolutely hate each other doing things that would be considered illegal in 49 states outside of the walls of a Missouri State Wrestling sanctioned event. The people can love or hate me for the man I used to be, they bought their ticket and that’s their right but that’s not going to change the man I am today.
He slams his fist into the punching bag in frustration, gritting his teeth.
Frank Washington: I’ve poured too much blood, sweat, and tears into arenas just like MSW’s these past 8 months to abandon the values I hold dear to me. I’m tired of the corruption, the lies; I’m tired of grudges and watching innocent people get caught in the crossfire. Even though I’ll have to live what I did my entire life in search my own redemption there’s still too much I still need to accomplish as a professional wrestler and as a man to lay down and die at your beck and call. On Wednesday May 7th, I’m looking to finally close a chapter in my life that should’ve been put to rest long ago. You want to make me pay for my crimes? Then you better be prepared to pay for your own in your weight in blood because it’ll be nothing short of a miracle if either of us leave Columbus, Missouri on our own power. One way or another it’s all coming to an end…
He scowls at the camera as he can barely contain his own passion and determination to succeed any further as his gaze pierces the camera.
Frank Washington: I don’t need to be the best on Wednesday – I just need to be better than you!
