"Ya know, I don't get to come down here to Missouri very often but damnit, I love it when I do!"
The fact was that Scotty was busy traveling all over the ICWA, he didn't get the time to come down and work with the new talent as much and hadn't actually been on MSW TV since the debut edition of Unstoppable when he was supposed to main event with Drew Stevenson before Bryce Manning, an old rival of both men made his presence known. Since then Scotty had become World champion and was doing just that, traveling the world but a social media exchange and some off camera words led to Scotty coming back to Missouri, back to MSW where he's been helping at the Academy when he can, to train some of the new guys. But this time he was stepping into the ring to take on mister trust fund, Leo Banks. We opened up in the academy, Scotty wore a grey 'Emerald Academy' t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and a pair of basketball shorts. He had been working out and was sweating but he stepped through the ropes and took a seat on the apron.
[Scotty]: Leo Banks... you know guys like you... the rich kids who's parents pay for everything in their entire lives? Ya know, the ones where as soon as their parents cut them off they go no where; you're a dime a dozen. Three quarters of my high school graduating class was just the same as you are, Leo, and people like piss me off. People like you piss me off because you walk around with a stick up your ass like your shit doesn't stink but it's about high time that you get taught a lesson in respect, and honor. See, in this sport, the moment that you step inside of that squared circle it's about respect and love for the business. Sure, some of us play the good guy, some of us play the bad guy and the fans will love you or boo you to hell and high water but you, Leo, as far as I can tell? You're just an idiot who should take his thumb out of his butt and put it in his mouth so you'll shut the hell up. I don't care about how much money you have, but what I do care about is the fact that you think it makes you better than all of the hard working guys around here like Salman Van Dam, Peyton Von Licht, Frank Washington, Daniel Smart, Matt Ward and all of the others and for what? Because you have a few extra bills in your pocket?
Scotty let out a 'psh' and chuckled, taking the towel from around his neck and wiping the sweat from his forehead.
[Scotty]: What was it you called me, Leo? "Poor Boy," was it? See, at this point I don't know if you've been living under a rock or you're just stupid but as far as I can see I've been traveling the world the past 9 years, making a name for myself and finally achieving my life long dream of becoming a world champion in the single greatest mainstream promotion that exists today and I'd say I'm doing quite well for myself. But Leo, you duck and you dodge and you try and make these alliances to cover your own butt but you fail to realize and understand that you're in the situation hat you're in now because your mouth put you there. Your mouth put you in this situation that you now have to step inside of the squared circle with me, 'Never Say Die' Scotty Addams, and you have the joy of getting your chest chopped off, your head kicked in and then you get to tap out because people like you, Banks, you never understand it. You never understand just how bad some of these people want to see you get your ass beat but they're either too busy with something else to further their career or they're not quite sure what to say about you, Leo, and that's where I come in.
Scotty hopped off of the apron and waived his hand for the camera to follow him.
[Scotty]: The thing about you, Leo, is that you've got all the talent in the world to do something great for yourself. I know because I've trained with you, I've seen your rise... and now I'm seeing your fall. Associating with Ian Windermear who only looks out for himself, partnering yourself with a 19 year old annoying little brat that's still sore over Drew wanting nothing to do with her.. you're digging yourself real deep, Leo, but now you've got a chance to maybe prove yourself otherwise. You're stepping into the ring with the current reigning and defending ICWA World Heavyweight Champion. You're stepping into the ring with a man who's got more fire and passion for this business right now, for this company, Missouri State Wrestling, than ever before and I go to that ring to win. I go to win, I go to kick some ass and I go to do it for myself and for the people that cheer me on each and every single night I step foot into that ring and all you do, Leo, is piss all over it. I'm going to teach you some respect, Leo, make no mistake about it.
Scotty took a brief pause to take a drink from his water bottle.
[Scotty]: You're sitting high on cloud nine right now and that's fine, you go ahead and go to your movie premiers and I'll be here at the Emerald Academy training and busting my ass like I always do, like it's going to be the biggest match of my career. Your money won't save you this time, Leo, because money doesn't buy respect, but busting your ass earns it. I look forward to you earning my respect, Leo. But I think I look most forward to beating you dead center of that ring, one.. two.. three to show you what the real world is like.
Scotty takes his towel and tosses it over the camera lens and our scene fades.
