Do you know who I am?
A matter of fact tone drips over that statement/question.
I said, do you know who the hell I am?
A light chuckle escapes her lips as Emma walks into view, as she walks into the single hanging light's cone of illumination. One can see the dirt and dust caked on the concrete just out of view. Where ever she is, it's not pretty, that's for sure. The look on her face is a smug little smile as she postures towards the camera.
Of course you do. You damn well better. And for those whom don't, trust me, you're gonna get a crash course real damn quick.
Dry little smile on her face.
My name is Emma Douglas and you are looking at the single most dominant woman wrestler in the game today. Period. That might seem like a lofty claim, but it's not bragging if it's true, right?
She shrugs her shoulders.
Oh, I understand that you have every right to doubt me and throw shade at me, and I'm used to it. But there is no one here that has the experience and talent I do. I see one, maybe two women whom can come close to that, but we'll see exactly how they measure up in due time.
Emma looks directly at the camera, eyes staring a hole right through it.
Do you know what I bring to Missouri State Wrestling? Legitimacy. Why do you think "they" made such a big deal about me signing with the company? Because I've proven time and time again that I'm damn good. Bar none. And quite frankly, me, just by being here raises the stakes. With me in MSW, everybody better be doing their damnedest to get better, because if I deem you lacking, I will crush you under my boot without a second of hesitation.
Em begins to begin lightly pacing around that little cone of light, talking as she walks.
I'm sure ya'll are wonder why I chose to step up to Shawna Martinez like that, huh? How I could possibly think I could hold a candle to the first ever MSW Women's Champ like that. Granted, I might not be some MSW Original, but I'm here now and that's really all that should concern you. She should be grateful actually. Shawna should be thankful I was feeling generous. The way I usually do business is punch the biggest dog in the yard right in the mouth, be the unholy crap out of them. You know, sort of like a prison mentality, it help sets the tone right off the bat. But I see enough of that special little something in her that I didn't want to snuff it out, just yet. So, for that, Shawna, you're welcome. I doubt next time I'll be so kind.
That confident little smile just plastered on her face. Emma Dee takes a couple steps back, back enough to see the words "Breaking Barriers (And Bones) written in white on her black tee. She then shakes her head, moving from one thought to another.
But enough of that right now. Right now, I have another person to worry about. I can't walk in here and spout off all this and completely overlook my opponent come Unstoppable. That would just be wrong, and if anybody knows a thing about me, is this....I don't overlook a soul. I'm an new age wrestler with a old school mentality. And there ain't a soul here that's going to outwork me in or out of the ring. So Ev The Great, seems like you and I have a date, as it were coming up.
Emma walks out into the darkness for a second and when she reappears, she's dragging a steel chair. While she gazes at the camera, she opens the chair and takes a seat on it backwards, resting her arms on the top of it, putting a little bit of weight there.
Ev, I know a little bit about you. You aren't a complete mystery to me like you might be to others. I might even remember you being in FWA all those years ago being a pest in Isabella Taylor's side with Gee Jay. Big Bro spent some time there too, yanno. So I know how good you are. How hard you work and how much effort you put in to get here. I get it. I know you got that MMA background, trying to bring something a little different to your game. I can respect that. I'm the same way. Be as well rounded as possible so not to have any glaring weaknesses and have more than one backup plan to fall back on. Knowing MMA and how to go from hold to hold can be very beneficial, I know this. You know how I know is? Because I'm more than just the Amazon Warrior you "think" you see. While you won't see me climb the turnbuckles and fly, I'm not some lumbering oaf, I'm so much more.
Emma clenches her hand into a fist a couple of times.
I can more than hold my own on the mat. You bring that mixed martial arts mentality, and that's cool. But I bring a whole hell of alot more. So you'll come at me with all that built up rage and frustration that I know is boiling inside of you, cause everytime you tried to get somewhere, things went to crap, and I know how that must feel. So I know you'll be gunning to take me out and proving you point. But things are never that easy. I'm a unique individual and I'll be more than game when the time comes.
She rolls her head around a few times, then brushes her long hair back.
You know something? I could have come here and gone right after Artemis and her championship right off the bat. Hell, I could have that new Junior Heavyweight Championship everyone keeps talking about, or even the IMPURE title belt. But I've been there and done that. I'm what you might call a proven commodity. While you were busy slumming it with the girls in the places you've been. I've been breaking barriers and slapping the taste out of guy's mouth all across the world. I helped raise the roof on what a woman can do in this business. And I did it because I have no fear. I did it cause I refuse to quit. And I did it because I won't back down from anyone.
Her face turns very stern.
Women of Tradition? Hell, I'm anything but traditional. I refuse to be put into a single category. I refuse to be pinned down as a single thing. So if you want traditional, don't be looking at me, I'll be busy blazing my own trail, like I've been doing my entire career.
Finally, that smug smile reappears.
Ev, you might think you're great. But I'm not just a goddess...
She stands up and kicks the chair out of view, the metal screeching along the concrete as it crashes out of view.
I. AM. WAR.
And with that, Emma flatly walks away, out of view. Then slowly we fade away.
