The news has been broken, the Main Event of MSW’s next Unstoppable is featuring two members of The Capital Crew vs. Two Members of, as they have now been dubbed, The MSW Originals. Frankie Cocheese and Theo Vega are set to take on Robert Garland and Chris Williams in what could be the final nail in the coffin for the resistance. With Chris’ recent loss to Barrel, another defeat could send Chris’ dreams of revenge packing. And, with this possible result on the horizon, the hope for Jackson, Garland, and Williams to topple the giants is looking as bleak as ever. With Chris falling into a bit of a slump due to the recent events, the scene is set to take place in Garland’s current residence. After a somewhat cold open, Nikki Lynn is seen in front of Garland’s Windows 98 Computer. Garland claims he found it in the dumpster out back and decided to try and hook it up, Nikki currently in the middle of a phone call...
Nikki Lynn - No… He hasn’t come back yet. He’s been trying to get in touch with Williams since last night’s Main Event. I told Garland just to give him some time to himself, but you know how he is. Yeah? Ok. No, I won’t tell him you called! Just come over and visit next week, alright? We both know you owe him at least that much since you’ve been so busy with your hotel business. They put the next match up on their website? Sure, I’ll make sure he sees.. I’ll talk to you later.
As Nikki hangs up, Garland makes his way through the front door. Nikki makes no mention of the call she was just on as she begins checking the internet and cursing a bit about how slow the connection is. Garland looks annoyed at the fact that she’s still hanging around as he tries his best to ignore her until the awkward silence between the two of them proves to be too much…
Robert Garland - Well… I couldn’t find him like you said. Seems Chris really does want to be alone. What a shame, I had a twelve pack ready and everythin’. Speaking of wantin’ to be alone… What are you still doin' here, Nikki? Shouldn’t you be takin’ care of your daughter?
Nikki Lynn - *AHEM* Excuse me?! OUR daughter, thank you very much. Besides, I’ve got a babysitter for tonight. Terra’s fine, although she could stand to see her father more. Why did I fall for such an asshole, anyway? But, as to what I’m doing!? I’m helping you out Badger. Well, whenever your internet decides to connect! I left my home in California for this? Hah. What a fool…
As the page begins to load, Nikki motions for Garland to head over. Garland reluctantly giving in and heading to her side. The two watch the screen slowly creep into place, Garland seeming to perk up a bit as he notices the card for Unstoppable #25 appearing in front of him. Garland gives it a quick read through, stopping at the main event and analyzing the names that appear across his and his pal Williams. “Finally,” Garland thinks to himself. “A step in the right direction.” A smile begins to creep over Garland’s face, Nikki wondering what he looks so happy about...
Nikki Lynn - What is this?! You’re actually looking forward to stepping into the ring against those killers?!
Robert Garland - And, why wouldn’t I be? This is the first step to me payin’ Williams back. THIS is the first step to me runnin’ solo again! THIS is the chance I need to show those goons in the back that we’re not only the better men, but that The Capital Crew’s win last week was nothin’ more than a fluke! FINALLY, after all this time removed from IPW, I get to step into the ring with Cocheda again. Not since Black House have I really even talked to the guy, and here I am gettin’ the chance to repay my debt while also makin’ a huge statement as to why we can topple the giants! HELL, as to why we’re the better of their whole five man clown fiesta!
It’s been a long time since I’ve got matched with some real fighters Nikki, and at Unstoppable #25, I’m goin’ yell so loud so that the whole damn locker room will hear our battlecry! It’s us against the crew, and we stand the stronger of the teams! Sure, we may be two men down. SURE, only Jackson and our other old pal has signed up with us… But a win over the man who runs the show? That’s the win that we need to grab hold of, with both hands, and take full advantage of.
We grab that “W” on Unstoppable #25? We get that rematch Chris needs for the world title. And then? And then, I get to move back towards finishin' my business with Frank Washington after all this time. This is literally the best outcome we could have asked for after Barrel BARELY managed to squeak out a victory. This is fight we need to win… This is the fight we will win… And this is the fight that will turn everythin' around for our rag-tag troupe. Yes, Nikki, all that puts a huge-ass smile on my face! Now, if only I could find Williams and let him know what’s up...
Suddenly, Garland’s phone begins to ring. Nikki keeps her thoughts to herself, but wonders if it’s related to the call she received earlier. She keeps quiet, Garland moving over towards the wall it’s hung up on as he picks up with a sharp “Hello?” Garland’s face seems to brighten instantly, the voice on the other line being that of Chris Williams. Nikki can’t make out what's being said on the other line, but she can tell it’s him from his muffled voice. She continues to try to eavesdrop, Garland repeating what Williams just said.
Robert Garland - You’re outside?! What the hell are you doin' out there? I thought for sure you’d want to be away for a bit and get your head back on your shoulders... Sure, I’ll let you in. No problem.
Garland heads towards the front door, Nikki now smiling as she believes any amount of human contact for Badger is a step in the right direction. Nikki hops up from her seat, moving towards Garland’s make shift kitchen - A fridge in the corner with a ratty looking counter beside it - and starts to make some coffee in anticipation. Meanwhile, the scene switches back to Garland who is now opening the door. Garland looks ready to greet his pal, Williams meeting him with a sober look. It’s almost as if the wind was knocked right out of Garland, his good mood disappearing in an instant as Williams looks like he hasn’t slept at all since his contest for The Pure 15 Championship…
Chris Williams - Mind if I crash here for the night? My place is a bit too far away and I feel like I’m going to fall over any minute now.
Robert Garland - Sure man… Whatever you need...
Williams gives Badger his thanks, falling forward almost instantly as Garland goes to catch him. It seems like Williams was ready to keel over at any moment, almost instantly falling to sleep once Garland mentioned it was alright to. Nikki noticed Chris’ almost violent fall, rushing over to make sure everything’s "ok" as Garland mentions that he just needs some rest. Garland looks around for a place he can put Chris up, quickly deciding that a nearby torn up cushion would make the best makeshift bed. Nikki tries to convince Garland that Chris could use his room, Garland asking her “Well then where would I sleep?” Before, moving to close the front door and heading back inside.
Nikki Lynn - Poor guy must be taking this pretty hard, huh? Can you believe he just knocked out like that? Man, I can’t imagine what he’s putting himself through. I’m sure you can relate though, right Badger? ...Badger?
Nikki looks around, Garland having vanished from her sight to head to his familiar corner. Garland is currently working to get his old television set in order, a tape of the latest MSW show in hand as he puts it in and starts to watch every match The Capital Crew were in. Nikki looks over to Chris who is fast asleep and snoring a bit, Garland speaking up one final time before fully surrendering himself to studying the tapes…
Robert Garland - Like I said, Nikki. We need this win more than ever before. This is the last thing I’ll say about our upcomin' match… We WILL get the win. We WILL be victorious… And we WILL show the world that The Capital Crew is nowhere near as invincible as they’re tryin' to make everyone think...
