[The scene opens as Hayden Phoenix is sitting at a table with a microphone on a base in front of him. There looks to be some reporters taking notes and using recording devices. The scene looks almost as though it is some sort of makeshift press conference. Hayden takes his sunglasses off, and lays them on the table. He grabs a bottle of water and takes a swig before clearing his throat and speaking into the mic]
[Phoenix] - I want to thank you all for coming here. As soon know, Hamilton is my hometown. I wrestled here for years, and than moved onto Toronto before making my way into more of the mainstream in the states. I invited some of local reporters that have covered me, and have been asking what is going on with my current, er, employer. I wanted to come here to set the record straight, and to let everyone know where I stand as a performer and a talent.
My journey in the United States began with a company based out of New York. I was promised a great chance, and I took it. But things stalled there and unfortunately they have seemed to lock up the doors and have gone radio silent. I was lucky enough than to land with a company in California, one that seemed to be connected with where I am now landing. Things were hunky-dory even though I missed the first week due to my own bad timing. I won my debut, teamed with Ian Windermear, won another match, and things became to also get....eerily quiet. At this point, who knows what the hell is going on?!?! I decided to do what is best for me and check out MSW. For those not familiar, MSW is a pretty well established company short for Missouri State Wrestling. It might not have the allure of New York or California, but so many legends of this sport have come from the heartland. And at the end of the day, I want a company that is stable and not a fly-by-night operation. And I think that the name "Unstoppable" is a well fitting name because I started on a good roll in CA and intend on continuing that here.
Now I do know that Ian is well established here, so if we happen to maintain ourselves as separate, that is fine. If the company happens to put us together at some point as a team, so be it. But what I could like the best would be to fight him again. Give him another chance to try and beat me. I took round one, and we both agreed that it would be the first of many.
[Reporter in the Audience] - What makes you think MSW will be the place? Is the third time the charm?
[Phoenix] - Who knows? All that I can do at this point is take it week-by-week. I will focus on my opponents, on the upcoming match, and focus on doing what I do best; work. I have stated it before and I will state it again: I am here, and by here I mean in whatever company I am in, and I plan on fulfilling my own dreams. I fight everyday for me... not for the fans, not for my family, and not for the money. This sport... this sport is what I am good at. It is what I succeed at. And it is what I will continue to do until I cannot physically do it anymore... and even than I am sure as hell I will try. And I am sure that I repeat myself, but it is because I truly mean it and I am truly focused. I am here in MSW to make an impact... from day one.
I do not want anyone to think that just because I was late to the game in MSW, that still does not mean that I have some sort of lack of anything. I have had issues with poor timing and bad choices in companies, apparently. I have trained and prepared for years. I was trained by some of the best, and I intend on holding up their great name in my talent and skills. I may not be the glamour-boy of some companies, or the monster that strikes fear in the eyes of the competition. I am exactly what you seeā¦. I am heart. I am passion. I am the drive it takes to win. I am the will to never give up. I am the never ending story that will remain in the spotlight for years to come, and I am the blood, sweat, and tears that anyone that has even wanted to be the greatest wanted to be.
I began to make a name... to make a place for myself "there". And I will continue to do so. I am new here, I get it. I need to pay my dues, I need to work my way up. I would not want it any other way. But when it comes down to it, those that are at the top of the ladder, make note that this Phoenix will be rising.... very quickly.
[The scene ends at Hayden Phoenix stands up from his seat and exits through a door into the accompanying hallway]
