"Man.. what the hell..."
Scotty's comments came after Unstoppable, and it's days after the show had ended. Frank Washington had made his stance clear when he attacked Drew Stevenson. Scotty didn't know which side to take or what to do; both of these guys were his brothers, they were like family to him and the best thing he could do was stay out of it. Frank said it was the best thing he could do-- but he's torn. If he stands with Drew, he's ending his friendship with Frank and standing against him. As much as Scotty can't stand that Wolf Parker with the plenty of history between them, especially here in Kansas City. If he stood with Frank, he stood against his best friend and his trainer all those years ago, Drew Stevenson. Scotty hadn't seen Frank since the show but with everybody that's supposed to be at the upcoming show, Scotty had to add his name to the mix. He had to show up in some capacity and try and get some kind of answers, but aside of that Missouri State Wrestling was Scotty's competing home now. Things in Jersey didn't work out. Things with Wallace just didn't work out either. One thing was for sure too, Scotty wished that he could get a hold of Zarek when things for his health didn't go so well for a while there. Sigh.. only in a perfect world.
So, Unstoppable #23, Scotty would be there and he would have a presencI'e. And as far as he can tell there's still no word for that Junior Heavyweight Championship-- and he'd love to get his feet wet again and starting heading to a division that helped get him his start in the business 10 years ago. It was time for "Never Say Die" to come to Unstoppable.
The camera opens up, and Scotty has collected his thoughts, all of them aside of what happened at 22 as well. He is seen with a black T-shirt, his Scotty Addams winged A T-shirt, a black zip-up hoodie that is unzipped, the hood down and the ties down each side as well and the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He wears a pair of camo shorts and some black and red Reebok Crossfit shoes. He stood against a brick wall, it was outside the weather was nice and sunny but still a chilly 55 degrees. Cars passed by on the street but it looked to be a little town, or a smaller community part of the town, probably a college area and the buildings looked a little older. This was a type of community he spent a lot of his time when he was younger in this kind of area. The camera was focused in on him and his smirk.
[Scotty]: Ya know, man, I gotta say that I'm excited. I'm excited that for the first time since MSW has opened it's doors that I'm more than just an appearance here and there. MSW is my home now. MSW is where I belong and it's where I've always belonged. And outside of MSW or LEGACY, even my short tenure with GGW, the last time I really enjoyed myself inside of the squared circle was ICWA. When I was there, I was on top of the world, I won the World Championship and became the first grand slam champ in the history of that company but then things changed. The season ended and I've gone from company to company just trying to find my mark, trying to find my place when my place was here all along. And ya know? Danny tried to tell me that but I never listened but I knew it the moment that I had to take on that punk Tommy Montana and the rest of his First Class crew at Unstoppable #16 for the MSW Championship. And ya know what? I lost that match and there will never be any excuses from me for that but it's time that I start to get back on the grind.
Scotty paused for a moment and smirked. He was happy that he finally made the deal with MSW and he was happy that he was going to start to make his claim to where he belongs.
[Scotty]: Last week at Unstoppable 22, things didn't quite go so well for the Jokers. It was great to be back for the short period and the business between Frank and Drew and I, that's going to be addressed when I get to the arena. But before I get there I need to set a goal. I need to set a goal to give me something to reach for because I'm not going to come to MSW to fall behind guys like Chris Williams, Tommy Montana and Frankie Cocheese. I've got respect for all of them. Tommy took that title and that bastard ran with it and he went into the match of his life against those other two and anybody that doesn't respect him after that needs their eyes checked. I don't like the guy and to be honest? I probably never will and I can guarantee you that if the two of us ever lock up again? The result won't be the same. Even if I have to fight off First Class by myself, I'll be ready. Chris Williams? The guy is all heart and he proves it each and every single week that he gets into the ring and he's a guy that I can respect because he's a guy that's just like me in a whole lot of ways and I look forward to squaring off with him eventually too.
Scotty paused while he looked around and even up to the sky with a smile, enjoying the sun and the beautiful day that it was outside. The perfect weather, beautiful day, and the contract signed it was going to be a good day.
[Scotty]: ...And then there's the other guy, the man, the MSW Heavyweight Champion of the World, a man that I go back a long way with - Frankie Cocheese. Last time he and I were in the ring together we were out in San Fran and stood side by side. Circumstances were different back then, and now you carry about fifteen pounds of gold on your shoulder with a target the size of Texas on your back. But that's fifteen pounds of gold that I want. So I'll tell ya this, Frankie, once you're done with Williams and Montana? We'll be squaring off sooner than later.
Scotty brought up a clear bottle of water that he opened to take a drink. He brought the bottle back down and closed the lid and came off of the wall. He began to walk around this uptown area and there were plenty of college students. Not as many now that schools had let out but there were enough to still be kind of annoying.
[Scotty]: But before I get there... I've got my eyes set elsewhere within this company. The one thing that sets MSW apart of everywhere else, and our fans know it and if some of the new roster doesn't know it yet you will soon enough, is that this company sets the standard for the business. It pulls in the best talent from everywhere, new or experienced and it pushes them, tests them against limits they never knew they had to be tested. THIS is where the belt talent in all of the world is at right now. A little city in Missouri with the biggest reputation. So what are my sights set on? And old friend of mine made an announcement here recently about a brand spankin' new championship- the MSW Junior Heavyweight Championship. See, that championship, that style, the high impact, fast paced action.. that's the style that got me into this business. A little company in New York called IRX run by a Mister Talen Decaine. See, he gave me my break. We may not have always gotten along but I never would have had the chance to succeed if not for him. But that company presented a style unlike any other- Innovation. Innovation is practically the definition of what the Junior heavyweight brings to the table. Just go back and watch Jay B versus Luke Jackson, prime example. Only those who can innovate, change the game while they're playing can succeed.
Scotty after walking for a few blocks had taken a seat on a park bench, just outside of a bus station with train tracks behind it.
[Scotty]: That's why Frankie Cocheese is your champion. He changed the game. He went outside of the box and made things work in the way that he could succeed otherwise things may not be the way that they are now. Innovation is the ground work that every single bit of this sport is founded on and when you're the champion of a division that defines that change, defines what it means to think outside of the box, then the rest of the world starts to follow you. Cocheese and Barrel and Kaiser may be respectable champions in their own way but now it's time to change the game again. It's time to innovate Missouri State Wrestling and it's time go back to my roots. You can consider this as "Never Say Die" Scotty Addams throwing his name into that hat; and I'll be there on May 21st at the Folly Theater to make this official. Missouri State Wrestling... I'm finally home again.
Scotty nods his head to the camera and the scene fades out.
