"Starting Over!" [Unstoppable Joint RP]
Ev The Great & Queen Vic were anything but Unstoppable as they lost both of their in-ring debuts at Unstoppable 24. They fought hard but in the end both ladies came up short against more than game opponents in Alison Crowne and Emma Douglas. And this coming Saturday night the duo known collectively as Violent Intent had a chance to redeem themselves and get the winners portion of the purse when Queen Vic takes on Lexi Pryce and Ev The Great takes on Sister Catherine who have both made waves in MSW since their debuts. For Vic and Ev going up against the Loose Cannon and The Crusader this was a great task and both of them had to refuse and get their minds right. This wasn't about bragging or boasting about how great you were this was all about doing what you had to do and getting the job done. This would be a great opportunity for both women to come out victorious in both of their matches. In a way to build up some positive momentum and really get the ball rolling here in Missouri State Wrestling. For both of these ladies it wasn’t their talent that was an issue but their focus. They had to focus and lock in on the task at hand and not worry about anything down the road and take it one match at a time. If they focused, locked in, and stopped worrying about future accolades and living up to their own hype but being the absolute best that they could be the sky was surely the limit for Queen Vic and Ev The Great. They had to start over, they had to regroup, refocus, and hopefully re-emerge victorious after what for lesser talents would be nothing short of soul crushing defeats their last time out. This was time for them to start over and get on the right track and to do that they had to get on the same page.
We come into focus and we are at a small mom & pop coffee shop in Atlanta, GA were Queen Vic and Ev The Great are both sitting across from each other casually nursing a couple large cups of coffee deep in discussion. As we get a closer look and eavesdrop on the conversation we pick up on Ev’s train of thought.
Ev The Great, “Look Vic, no matter what happens out there we’ve got to have each other’s back because it’s us versus them each and every night we step out in the middle of the ring. Violent Intent, partners in crime, sisters from other misters, and all that ‘ole good shit. So bottom line come Saturday night wherever you’re at I’m at, and wherever I’m at you’re at.”
Vic shook her head as a faint smile ran across her face. Ev seemed to be thrown off by this as Vic broke eye contact and focused on her cup of joe as she chugged away at what was now a lukewarm at best drink before going back to studying the cup. Ev continued on as with concern in her voice.
Ev The Great, “What Vic? What’s so funny? I mean it, we’re a dynamic duo it’s about damn time we showed it.”
Vic looked up.
Queen Vic, “Dynamic Duo? They don’t say it Ev, but everyone in the Women of Honor division sees as a joke. It’s dripping with each and word that comes out of their mouths when they speak about it. Every tweet. And two weeks ago at Unstoppable 24 we didn’t do ourselves any favors. Sure we put up a good fight, sure we came agonizingly close to walking out of our matches victorious but it didn’t happen. It just didn’t happen. And as the saying goes Ev, “ All sound and fury signifying nothing!”
Ev went to speak but Vic cut her off at the pass.
Queen Vic, “I’m not done yet. See that’s what they think about us girl, all show and no go. We talk a big game but can’t deliver. You’ve got to focus on being the best Ev you can be and not worry about walking a mile in Gee’s shoes. I get it, she’s your hero, she did all these great things but at the end of the day that’s on her, not on you. Don’t worry about barrier breaking and being some kind of gender equality warrior. Worry about working your ass off in the gym and inside of the ring like I know you can and killing it against each and every one of your opponents. Let whatever happens, happen and don’t worry about anything that’s out of your control. We’ve been given a great opportunity in one of the most stacked divisions in women’s wrestling and we’ve got a chance to shine and shine bright. But we can’t shine if you’re head is in the clouds and you’re dreaming of ruling the roost when you can’t get a handle on the hen house.”
Queen Vic had a great deal of conviction in her words. She extended her hand out to Ev so that she could now speak as she took another long sip from her coffee cup.
Ev The Great, “Is that how you really feel Vic?”
Queen Vic Simply nodded. Ev hung her head as she took it in. Vic spoke up.
Queen Vic, “I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it. I meant every last word of it.”
Ev took a moment. Resting her hands in her lap, her hair concealed her face. She took a moment to collect her thoughts and she looked up at Vic.
Ev The Great, “Alright then there’s nothing more that needs to be said other than the fact that we need to focus on the task at hand and stop worrying about any and everything that is out of our control.”
Queen Vic, “I’d say that’s pretty damn spot on if you ask me!”
Ev nodded as she took a sip from her coffee and spoke up.
Ev The Great, “No bold statements, just going out there and doing whatever it takes to come out victorious.”
Queen Vic nods her head in agreement.
Queen Vic, “We’re in this together you and I. Don’t forget that girl, I do agree with you on that front. If you need me, I’m here for you.”
Both women extended their hands out and shook on it. Queen Vic continued on.
Queen Vic, “I know for a fact that Lexi Pryce regardless of her histrionics is a fierce competitor, I know that I’m going to be in for one helluva fight. I’m not concerned with her antics, or anything else but taking the fight too her and being the last woman standing when all is said and done. This is the beginning of something great, I can feel it, and win, lose, or draw, I will not stop until I reach that something great. I will not stop and I believe that there’s no better opponent to prove myself against than Lexi Pryce.”
Ev The Great, “Sister Catherine, some might be seen as someone who’s a couple fries short of a happy meal. A weirdo, a freeeak, eccentric, odd, not quite right, sick in the head among other things to put down her mental state. But one thing that I know and that is certain is that Sister Catherine is a stone cold killer inside those four ropes. Week in and week out. The girl’s a force and I look forward to standing face to face with her and I believe that it will be an honor to take on MSW’s resident crusader and take her on. She can try to punish me for my sins, put me in my place… I’ll keep coming at her, I’ll keep fighting, until I can not fight anymore and my hand is raised in victory.”
Queen Vic, “Saturday night, all things become new. When Violent Intent, individually, and as a group press the reset button and show this division just what we’re made off. Right, that we’re great at being bad, getting down and dirty, but we’re even greater at being good and killing it.”
Ev The Great, “Preach it sister. Amen! Now let’s blow!”
With that both girls get up and go as we cut and fade to black.
