Detailed Entrance: "Re-Education (Through Labor)" by Rise Against resonates from the PA system as jet of smoke erupts on the stage as the lights dim. Frank Washington emerges from behind the smoke with his back turned and his arms outstretched wide to a positive reaction. Frank slowly turns around as he methodically makes his way down the ramp slapping fans hands along the way.
Barbara Braman: Making his way to the ring now residing in San Jose, California weighing 233lbs he is The Revolutionary, Frank Washington!
As Frank reaches the end of the ramp he pauses for a moment before sprinting into the ring, sliding under the bottom rope. Frank Washington then gets up and approaches the turnbuckle as he climbs up on the second rope pausing for a moment as he again soaks in the atmosphere created by the MSW faithful as he outstretches his arms wide to pose. After a few moment's pause he descends the turnbuckle taking his red coat off and turns his attention to the ring.
Detailed Biography of Character: Frank Washington found success in early 2007 wrestling in an Indy promotion in Stockton, California where he not only captured his first championship but would become a double champion before the promotion shut its doors. From there he joined various promotions in New York, Knoxville, and Connecticut just to name a few managing to find success in nearly every promotion he stepped foot in gaining a reputation for putting on great matches win or lose. In 2008 he truly began to find his stride as the “Revolutionary Turncoat” from his heinous betrayal in favor of Devastation Inc. before taking time away from wrestling to heal nagging injuries and pursue other interests.
He would return once again to professional wrestling at the beginning of 2010, catching fire with the “Revolutionary Turncoat” gimmick by further cementing his unpredictability and willingness to turn on his longtime friend at the drop of a dime, Robert Garland, all in the name of furthering his own career in what was potentially the hottest feud of 2010 in New York. In New York he cemented himself as a showcase wrestler, elevating the Interbrand Championship to near main event status during his reign. Near the end of 2010 he took time away from professional wrestling again, only wrestling sporadically until 2013 when he rediscovered his passion for the business back in Knoxville.
After a contract dispute with the Knoxville territory Frank Washington made his debut in the ICWA quickly making a name for himself with Wolf Parker and Kenway as The Uprising. While fulfilling his commitments to ICWA he worked several dates for WrestleUTA under a handshake agreement before exiting with the rest of Jokers Wild in a mutual parting. Seemingly putting his checkered past behind him Frank Washington came to MSW with a renewed focus both personally and professionally - reinvigorate and bring wrestling back to it's roots.
He would quickly have to face the demons of his past when Robert Garland ambushed him on the inaugeral edition of Unstoppable and in the process reigniting that old blood feud. After meddling in each other's affairs they would face off at Best of the Best, the match quickly decending into chaos as it ended on a double count out. Throughout the night the two bitter enemies would fight throughout the arena before security eventually regained control. As punishment the two were forced to team up in a tournament to crown the first ever MSW Tag Team Champions. Wrestling what were essentially glorified handicap matches the duo improbably managed to reach the finals before falling to Yugo Phailous and his tag team partner. From there it appeared the feud would finally reach its conclusion at War but MSW closed it's doors.
From there Frank Washington wrestled against his will in the spinoff promotion RWD, fronted by the money of Travis Rech as certain assets were purchased by the long time ally of Garland, including his contract (without his knowledge). From there he feuded with Chris Williams, the handpicked man of Garland who had a shared history with both men. It would appear that they were set to settle things once and for all again but RWD's assets (but not MSW's) were purchased by an Arizona promotion after falling behind to RWD in a interpromotional series. After briefly wrestling in Arizona Frank returned to the state of California to wrestle for Golden Gate Wrestling. In the main event of the first show he wrestled Jokers Wild stablemate and tag team partner Drew Stevenson for the Golden Gate Championship in what was seen as a ratings power play by Isaac Cornelius III. This would be the last match Frank Washington would wrestle in 8 months as he suffered a broken leg at the hands of Stevenson. Upon hearing the rumors of MSW's rise from the ashes one question has to be on everyone's minds; where's Frank Washington? We'll find out soon enough.
Allies: Scotty Addams, Frankie Cocheese, Shawna Martinez
Enemies: Robert Garland, Drew Stevenson
Favorite Match Types: Ladder match. Back to his days in 2007 when he started really touring the independent circuits it was a match that put him on the map, earning him his first championship in professional wrestling. Even though he hasn’t wrestled in one in years it’s still a match he has a soft spot for.
Least Favorite Match Types: Handicap (only when at the disadvantage). Frank doesn’t enjoy having the odds stacked against his favor in such a manner while being the sole target.
Moveset Information
Wrestling Style: Hybrid – While Frank primarily works a technical and submission style of wrestling he can certainly adopt to a hardcore environment when necessary and has done so in the past. In big matches he’s been known pull out a high risk move or two (generally dives to the outside, moonsaults, etc) as a throwback to his early days in professional wrestling. Throughout much of 2014 into early 2015 he rekindled his blood feud with longtime nemesis Robert Garland in the Midwest and later the South. During this time Frank developed a more aggressive side to his ring psychology incorporating more strikes and using his environment to enhance his offense (IE Release German Suplex into the turnbuckle for example)
Trademark Moves:
- Royal Flush (Triple German Suplex, with or without the bridging pin after the third)
- Fall From Grace (springboard kick)
- Moonsault (big match situations)
Finishing Moves:
- Black Halo (modified dragon sleeper/Romero Choke)
- The G.O.A.T. – Greatest Of All Time (Fisherman Buster)
