“I have to admit that I am going off this female empowerment high right now.” She explained as she sipped on her cup of tea before continuing. “There is nothing like winning a War Games match with your fellow ladies to bring that out in you. Even I cannot deny the unity you feel with your fellow woman when you accomplish something like that together.”
“And that is why you left a top spot in a company? To NOT compete with men?” Charles Johnson questioned her with a coffee in his hands. She gave this nervous gentlemen a warm smile as he was looking over the paperwork that was involved with some of her new business ventures. Now that she is something of a ‘pseudo name’ in the industry of grappling and since she is between places now, she figured it was time to hire a lawyer to help with legal advice. “Then what is this contract for a second a place.”
“I left a top spot in a company because I felt there was no room growth anymore. It is my rookie year and I was already main eventing matches and leading war games teams and the like. Right now, I have a signed contract with another place who allowed me to split my time between them and MSW.” She said as Charles finished her thought.
“Where you will be competing against women even though you have beaten men on several occasions.” He is still rifling through her contracts to make sure there are no loopholes with them.
“You make it sound like it is something I should be ashamed of, love” She began holding the tea up in her hand with her pinky finger up. “Now I do admit it wasn’t exactly something I was fond of at first but the more I thought about it the more of an aces idea it seemed. With intergender competition, sure I stood out ...but there is absolutely no guarantee that all of the women would get a proper spotlight in all intergender companies. I have seen it on many occasions where women were allowed to compete with men but they were swept under the rug and given an opportunity to shine in favor of the men. A Woman’s division that is featured heavily GUARANTEES that spotlight that women deserve. After doing research on how the female gender see each other, I know how important it is for us to be given our own space. Not just that but prove that we can do it better than the men.”
Charles takes a sip of his coffee nervously before speaking. “It seems that you at least picked a good company for that as it seems they value their women’s division.”
“And that is EXACTLY why I am signing with them.” She stops to take a sip of her tea. “If I am going to perform exclusively with birds, it is going to be in a company that is known for its brilliant female action. That is what MSW has been known. How can I not be apart of that?”
He looks at all of the contract paperwork and stares back at her. “Well, everything looks good as far as BOTH contracts goes. It doesn’t look like there is going to be any problem doing both at the same time aside from.”
“...name dropping the other place in MSW” She finishes for him with a confident smile on her face although he looks annoyed by this.. “Its a golden rule that I do not plan on breaking once I make my first appearance at Best of the Best. I picked a good show to make my first appearance as they will be claiming their first ever Women’s champion?”
“And you will be there to call out the champion like most wrestlers?” He asks underneath his wire frame glasses with beady eyes.
“Oh, heavens no.” She began surprised that he would even suggest something like that. “Why would I steal another woman’s spotlight when she won a hard fought battle. I will make my appearance but I certainly will not hog any of those Woman’s spotlight. After all, I am the new bird ...it would not be polite of me to show up and insist that I am some kind of contender. I will let the management and champion determine that when they watch my matches show to show. I will not turn the opportunity, but I will certainly not act like I am entitled to it. Besides, I believe to hold a title you need to grow with a company before you can call yourself a champion. I will work my way to that point and I have no gripe with that.”
“I have represented several wrestlers before and they usually feel entitled to things the moment they enter a company” Charles said while sipping on his coffee.
“That is their choice and if they feel that way, I am not going to stop them.” She shrugs. “I just know that I will be given plenty of opportunity to prove myself capable that I won’t have to demand or beg or even mention it. I have confidence that the brass at MSW will give me chances and that if I impress them, they will deem me worthy of accolades. After Best of the Best they will be presenting a Break Out special for example. That name alone refers to an opportunity to challenge myself and impress in that first match. I believe that in MSW my time will come and that will be due to my positive attitude.
Charles glasses fall down his nose and looks at her. “Has anyone ever told you that you could do like self help seminars?
“Everyday, love ...everyday.”
