I've written up notes on every segment as I was reading and will post them here as a response.
Catherine Williamson vs. Davina Dawnson -Quick squash match to debut Catherine Williamson and possibly feud with Kat. I’m excited to see more of Catherine Williamson and I really liked the announcer call of “we offer the best traditional wrestling.” This was a fun and short read and I look forward to seeing more of Cat and Kat evolve, unless I’m reading too much into the end of this match. Williamson’s writing has some room to evolve, but that’s a good thing as this is a great place to learn. I hope she sticks around.
Good opening match.
Salman Van Dam vs. Ian Windermear -A pretty back and forth match for what I assumed would be a quick win from Salman. I’m very happy to see Salman getting some quality ring action in. This is an exciting return as I’m really into his promos and his banner making for the community was a great OOC boost for the board.
Artemis Kaiser vs. Helen Hirano -Another squash match, but a really good piece of work to hype Artemis. I too was confused by the crowd reaction as I was expecting a super villain who would rival her brother. Looking forward to seeing more from Von as always. He’s exciting, interesting, and creates fun characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks out the winner of US#8’s Battle Royale.
Roman Gold vs. Davis Wiley - I’m all for this debut as Gold’s very active in the promo portions of the board. I don’t have much to say yet, except that I can’t wait to see this character grow in MSW and what’s in store for him in the future.
Aftermatch of the Fight for Ages - Now, normally Frank and I work on everything in tandem. However, this segment was all him and even I didn’t know what he would come out to say. I’m interested in the angle of him calling me out this time and I’m already figuring out my response. There’s a good bit of buildup still continuing for Frank vs. Garland after what was a really fun match we put on at Best of the Best. I’m curious to hear more about what everyone else thinks about this feud going forward.
Smart Out of Order? -This is a part of the show I wasn’t really happy to read, but I knew it was coming. All I can do is watch the MSW Title scene grow and wait for Smart to come back. In character, I want to see Smart rip Bryce’s head off.
Braiden McCain vs. St. Tuck w/ Pornstar Ron -I really enjoyed these goofballs and, although I expected them to lose, this was a fun read and build up for Braiden McCain.
She Did It - Once again, congrats to Shawna Martinez. Here’s to the future match vs. Tamara.
Giant and the Heroes - Once again this segment left me curious how everyone will react to the unlikely pairing of the still feuding Garland and Frank. We have a fun few plans in store for this little bit we’ve been given. However, make no mistake, we still want to rip each other apart and will use every chance we get to pull one over on the other.
The Apocalypse vs. Loose Cannon and Jorge Santos -Man, Cannon can’t catch a break around here. From getting bloodied by me to just destroyed by The Apocalypse. These guys, with Neforian are starting to remind me of Raven’s Flock and I’m actually really enjoying it. I want to see where this all goes and I’m probably looking forward most to these guys on every show.
The Academy -Cool hype for a group reminding me of The Hart Foundation. Let’s see what they can do next week!
Johnny B. vs. James Carson -Good work on building Johnny some more. Nice suicide dive spot. Let’s see how Bonecrusher does in the tournament next week. The tag division is getting built really well around here.
Jaxin vs. Peyton Von Licht -Well this was a nice treat considering the no shows we got from a handful of the new guys. I’m a big fan of Peyton already and I’m hoping we get to see more from Jaxin in the future.
Bryce Manning’s Address -Nice Shane Douglas esque work here to end the night. The announcement of the crowning of a new #1 contender leaves me looking forward to next show even more-so than just the tag tournament. I feel like you may have over stacked the next US though, it’s going to be quite the event. Good luck writers on that Battle Royale, I know from experience it’s a tough call to keep everyone in the match relevant and in the action. However, you guys will do great.
Overall –
Pretty good read with a nice feel good moment here and there and a good recovery from the heels of Best of the Best. I think you guys did some great improv work considering the number of new guys who no-showed, however that’s always the risk you take when booking them. Looking forward to next Unstoppable and I’m already formulating my next promo for our match and continuing feud… After I make sure these stitches don’t get in the way
Yes my rps will improve and I hope Kat agrees to get into a fued with me
