>> "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up!"<<
Bryce Manning showed what sort of world champion he was last week - a cheat. Despite gaining the victory, the manner he achieved this victory was unforgivable and truly disgraceful. I'm deeply upset because Bryce Manning is going to continue walking around this company with that championship draped on his shoulders, cheating to gain victories. Bryce Manning maybe good - but if he couldn't beat me fair and square, I really do wonder how good he really is.
Although I lost, I believe that I captured the attentions of the Missouri State Wrestling audiences. I performed well, executed my moves precisely and entertained the audience. My performance has pushed me up in the rankings in this company and in my third match here in MSW, I will be taking on TJ Bryce - another veteran who has been in this game longer than I have.
The comeback is on for mister Bryce but I intend on pulling an upset and once again proving to the viewers, superstars in the roster and management - that I am a force to be reckoned with. TJ maybe more experienced than me, he may perhaps be better than me in ring also - but theres one thing I know I have an advantage over him, intelligence in the ring.
// Peterson's Perspective //
Thursday 10th July, 2014
Missouri, Kansas City.
The scene opened up with James Peterson seated in his familiar armchair however in a totally different location, in fact, Peterson was in his new home here in Missouri, Kansas City. After weeks of traveling between London and the US, Peterson decided that he needed to move Missouri to continue his development and profession in wrestling. With a smile plastered on his face as he looked up at the camera, Peterson put his book down on the table beside him and clasped his hands together as he leaned backwards in his brown armchair.
A $500 dollar Grey suit, $200 dollar Italian smart shoes and a rolex on his wrist; to summarize, James Peterson was looking pretty swerve in this attire. Behind him was a shelf of neatly stacked books as well as a few golden championship belts glistening in glass containers. Peterson cleared his throat as he looked down at his tiger fur flooring; contemplating what to say before swiping his right fingers through his brown hair, looking up at the camera to speak.
"Bryce Manning, I hope you're watching this. I hope I have your attention now. You see Bryce, last week not only did you cheat your way to win - but I almost snapped that ankle of yours. I hope it's alright now Bryce, I wouldn't want you to be walking into Back to Basics with an injured ankle... I want you to know however, that whatever the outcome at Back to Basics - I want you to face me. I don't care if you keep the title at Back to Basics or if you lose it, I want a good old fashioned match between you and me. Not cheating. A good old fashioned match between you and I."
Peterson paused, allowing time for the viewers to acknowledge what he had just said. He once again played with his hair, moving it back and forth a few times before continuing with his statement.
"Even though I wasn't able to beat you, I think I showed the MSW fans what I have to offer. I think I showed the guys at the back, what I have to offer. And most importantly, I think I showed the other members of the roster, what skills and threat I possess. I failed to win despite stating that I would; which is an obvious weakness of mine - over confidence. But I guess the loss wasn't too bad because now I find myself higher up in next weeks card. In fact, I find myself taking on the so called "most valuable asset", TJ Bryce. Another arrogant man, who coincidentally second name is Bryce. And who did I take on last week? Bryce Manning. I've taken on two Bryce's since I've been here - and both of them, once again, have underestimated my ability.
First of all TJ the name is James Peterson not Paterson. I saw your little promo earlier on this week and I've got to say, I'm offended that you pronounced my name wrong. Its not that hard to pronounce. In fact, even an infant can make the pronunciation - an infant TJ. Despite being an minor issue, I was enormously annoyed at this error - that I couldn't finish watching all of the promo. So instead, I got my butler to do it - and he informed me, with what you had to say.
I do agree that our encounter will perhaps be my toughest challenge, even though I faced the world champion last week. This will be my toughest match to date because this is a match I have to win. I have to rectify my winning mentality as well as get a win under my belt heading into Back to Basics.
But I'm not an idiot; I understand that this match is equally important to you because this is your official debut. You, like I did a month ago, have to introduce yourself to the MSW universe and show them what you have to offer to this great company. You, like I did, need to win because you need to show people that you have the X-Factor and you deserve to be taken seriously."
He cleared his throat and then continued.
"When it comes to predictions once again I believe you're in favor. Everyone knows TJ Bryce. They know you're history in this game - you've only recently returned to Wrestling. Once again, I go into this match the underdog - like I always have for every match I've competed in so far. Sorry for the cliché, but this will be another underdog story where the underdog prevails. I'm Rocky Balboa - and your Apollo Creed!
This match will be two men head to head facing off in that four sided ring who both possess strengths and weaknesses, who both need to win this match. Despite having the odds stacked against me, I do believe that believers have already developed, people that believe in James Peterson are out there and will be rooting for me next week. The James Peterson calvary are the audience - you may have Roman Gold, but I have hundreds of people screaming my name in the audience - rooting for me to WIN!
Next Thursday night when the stage is set and all eyes are on us, I'll give you one hell of a welcoming to MSW. I'll give you one hell of a match. And I'll give you one hell of an injury to that ankle of yours. TJ Bryce - welcome to Missouri State Wrestling, It'll be a pleasure fighting you. From the Emperor of Excellence, James Peterson."
And with that said Peterson gazed at the camera for a moment, before picking up his book from the table beside him - and continuing with his read, whilst the camera backed away before fading to black.
