The scene opens up with a close-up of a pot of coffee, full of black liquid. A hand reaches to grab the pot, pouring coffee into a big white mug. Putting the pot back down, the camera zooming out to reveal the smiling face of Daniel Smart.
”Good morning, fans! Well, you probably won't be seeing this in the morning, but I digress. The point is that I just woke up 30 minutes ago, and I could use a cup of coffee! So here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to finish this cup of coffee, and while I do, I'm going to share my thoughts on my upcoming match with LeBroc Harris.”
Daniel walks over to his couch and sits down. Settling into a comfortable position, Daniel takes a sip out of his mug before turning to the camera.
”Last week, I made my return to MSW by beating Jorge Santos. Jorge wasn't much of an opponent to be honest, I made short work of him. Then, while I was back in my locker room ready to hit the shower, I hear someone call me out. When I turned to the TV set in the locker room, I saw none other than LeBroc Harris, calling me a chump and claiming that he'd tap me out.”
Daniel takes a sip out of his mug, a thoughtful look on his face.
”LeBroc, let me address you directly. I've heard what you've been saying about me. You're calling me insecure? If you'd said that a month ago, you might have had a point. If you'd said that after I lost to Manning, you would've been absolutely right. But now? Now, I'm over that. I'm done feeling sorry for myself. Now that I'm back, I've decided that I'm simply going to work hard and go 100% every single day of the week. At Back to Basics, you'll find that out first-hand.”
Daniel tries to take a big gulp out of his mug, but spits half the coffee back into the mug.
”Damn, that's hot. Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. LeBroc, you wanted me for your invitational. Consider your invite accepted. But it's not just an invite to a match, oh no. LeBroc, you invited me to kick your ass! I saw your match against Chris Alans, LeBroc. That was an impressive performance, but I hope you don't expect things to go that easy at Back to Basics. There's only one man who's beaten me in MSW, LeBroc, and you're not Bryce Manning. I don't plan on losing until I get to face Manning again, so where does that leave you?”
Daniel takes a careful sip out of his mug, the coffee still incredibly hot.
”You want to make me tap out? You want to make me submit? LeBroc, I don't quit. I've gone through a lot to get here, I've been in a lot of pain to get in the shape that I am. There's no way I'm going to let that all go to waste by tapping out. No, if you want to beat me, you'll have to do it the hard way. I'm going to keep fighting until I can no longer move. Anything less, and I'm going to keep getting back up, I'm going to keep coming at you, and sooner or later, I'm going to win.”
Taking a look at his mug, Daniel cautiously takes another sip.
”In the short period that I've been in MSW, I've won every match with my patented Knee-DS. A knee to the face might be in your future as well, LeBroc. But who knows? I might want to change things up a bit. You're not the only one with a signature submission hold. My father was a great technical wrestler in his own right, and he taught me everything he knew. Come July 30th, who knows? I might just feel like making you taste your own medicine.”
Daniel brings the mug up to his lips and tries to drink the rest of the coffee, but he quickly spits it back out.
”Ow! This coffee is seriously way too hot. I was hoping to finish this coffee before I'm done, but clearly that's not gonna happen.”
Taking a small sip, Daniel tries to think of something else to say.
”What kind of a name is Lehman, anyway?”
There in an awkward pause as Daniel stares off into space.
”Screw this, this interview is over. LeBroc, I'll see you at Back to Basics. Now I'm going to put some milk into this coffee.”
Daniel walks over to his fridge as the scene fades to black.
