OOC: My first ever with her. Hopefully it's as enjoyable to read as it was for me to write. Good luck guys!
When the sun was down the stars were bright. Lucy Wylde had always been a night person, she loved the sounds that silence brought her and she loved being able to look up into the sky and not be burdened by the bright lights. Kansas City was a city with a lot to offer. it had given her her first taste of great music, it had given her her first taste of great food and it had given her her first taste of wrestling.
October 22nd, 2001, Kansas City
It was the first time that Lucy had seen wrestling. Her father had promised her brother that if the WWF came to town he would take him and Lucy wanted desperately to be as cool as her older brother, Jacob. Lucy of course was only 11 years old at the time but the impact that this particular event would have on her life would change the course of it. She was in aw of the spectacle of it all. Although she didn't know a single one of the wrestlers, except for the Rock of course, everyone knew him and boy was he great. Lucy could have watched it for hours on end. It didn't matter that she hadn't been watching and that she wasn't invested in these characters and their stories. To Lucy it was all real and these people had become her heroes in just a night, just think of the impact they would have on her life.
After they returned home Lucy couldn't stop talking about how much she loved the experience, how much fun it was and how some day she would be in a ring and she would be flying around like that red-headed woman. When she laid down in her bed that night she could hardly sleep because all she could think about was how excited she was to have found her passion. She had finally found what she was meant to do and she was going to be a professional wrestler and there was nothing and no one that could stop her from accomplishing that. As she finally slipped into sleep her dreams were filled with frog splashes and chants of her name. LU-CY! LU-CY! LU-CY!
As they grew older her brother forgot about wrestling, as most kids do. He moved on to go to law school instead. Lucy didn't grow out of it though, she never left it behind. She instead became extremely loyal to her passion. She found wrestling schools in Kansas City and begged her mother to let her wrestle. Of course her Mom wasn't too fond of her only daughter taking up a sport she deemed more for boys. So Lucy got out of high school and started to work her ass off and when she got to a point where she could support herself she enrolled to train. The first time she hit the mat to take a bump it hurt, but it also felt like sweet victory. Lucy had never had another plan or another passion, wrestling was it. And wrestling would be her world for the next four years.
July 6th, 2014
Lucy was squaring up in the middle of the ring at the gym with one of her buddies, Max, they had both started at the same time and had come up together so she felt the most comfortable with him inside of the ring. Her phone went off, but the pair ignored it as they worked on a few new moves she had been dying to try out. After their session Lucy hopped down off the apron grabbing her phone. There was a voicemail from earlier so she played it. As she listened her mouth spread wide with a grin she couldn't even pretend to hide.
"What's up?" Max asked with a little hesitation, because honestly he was a little afraid when Lucy smiled that big it normally meant she did something wrong. She very rarely took things seriously so if something went wrong she thought it was absolutely hilarious.
"Dude, Max, that was MSW. They want me to sign an exclusive contract with them." Lucy couldn't stop her smile and this time Max was joining in. Lucy squealed a little jumping up and down which then turned in to this weird robot thing complete with making her own soundtrack.
"That's awesome. You've been working really hard at shows you deserve to have a home base." Max nodded his head and the pair hugged. Max had been her brother since she started wrestling.
"This is just awesome, I love the stuff they're putting out, they're smart they believe in their women's division which doesn't alway happen in the indies. This is just going to be amazing." Lucy nodded her head with a grin still locked on to her face.
"When do they need you to start?" Max put on his sweatshirt, grabbing his bag.
"They want me to come to Unstoppable 11 and check things out meet some people and then see where we can go from there." Lucy did another little dance to herself complete with music.
"You need to stop, you're embarrassing yourself." Max shook his head.
"Sorry I'm not sorry!" Lucy pushed him as they made their way out of the gym. She was more than ready for the challenge that was ahead of her and she knew that she could be one of the best if she was given an outlet to compete consistently and that was exactly what MSW would be for her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Unstoppable #11 had come and passed and Lucy had met people, talked to people, watched amazing wrestlers perform in front of her. She hadn't been questioning it before, but now she was more than sure that MSW was a good place to get her real start and so it begins.
July 23rd, 2014
Lucy was rushing through her apartment. She was late, which was a usual thing for her. Honestly she was terrible at being on time, for some reason she couldn't grasp the point of time management. So there she was grabbing quickly for everything that she would need for her day. There was a lot to do as she prepared herself for her debut in MSW. A debut that would set her up either for success or failure. Lucy was confident in her abilities in the ring but that didn't mean something couldn't go wrong. So she wasn't going to risk it. Instead she had been in the gym as often as possible and she had been working on making herself a personality, or rather showing off the one that she already had to those that didn't exactly know who she was. So far the gym thing had been a success but the whole 'get your name out there' thing, not so much.
"Fuck!!" Lucy screamed as she slammed her toe straight into the side of the couch. "Couch, I don't have time to fight you right now, you win this time but I swear I will let that cat rip you to shreds." Lucy pet her cat, Toby on the head, before grabbing her keys and zooming out the door.
First stop was training which had been a focus on submission technique today with Max. Then there were a million other things after that most of which had nothing to do with wrestling. Which was exactly why Lucy got into her car and stopped herself to take a breather. It was time to show herself to the world and let them get to know her. Lucky for her iphone cameras were actually pretty great now. So it was all very simple: point, shoot, smile.
"Hey party people, it's me Lucy Wylde. I know what most of you are thinking..."wait who?". I get it. I'm not exactly out there on your web all that often and that's probably why you're wondering who I am. Those of you familiar with the Midwest independent scene might know who I am but aren't exactly aware of what I'm really capable of. Which is exactly why I wanted to talk to you all today. For those that haven't been following me, I've signed with MSW, which I could not be more excited about. I am all for a company that is all about quality wrestling and giving everyone a chance to shine. That is exactly what I need right now. I need it because I know that what I have to offer all of you fine folks is something bigger and better than what you've seen before." Lucy nods with a grin. "You see, Wrestling is a huge passion of mine and it has been for more years than I'm willing to disclose right now. Since the second that I stepped foot into an arena I knew that there was no other purpose for me on this Earth than to wrestle and that had been my goal from that second forward. It wasn't easy and I didn't always have all the support in the world but you know what I made it here and I'm really proud of it." Lucy stopped herself. "Enough of that boring, 'passion is my drive' stuff though, lets get down and dirty ya'll." Lucy danced as much as she could while keeping the camera still, mainly some shoulder movements, very dad in his late 40s at a wedding material.
"I assume a lot of you guys are already aware of my signing an exclusive contract with MSW because I'm scheduled in a match at Unstoppable #12! I know, so exciting right?! A match against two other women they just signed, because you know #yesallwomen should be signed to wrestling contracts. That's what that hashtag was about, right?" Lucy chuckled to herself. "I'm hilarious people, get on board. Anyways, two other women are making their debut, which is great because then we're all starting on a level playing field AND we're all wanting to make an impression so we're all gonna fight really freaking hard. At least I know that's my plan. I suppose I can't really speak for Ciara Rose or Danni Thompson but I assume they're in this for the same reasons as me and that's because they just love the sport." Lucy shrugs. "As I said though, not gonna put words in anyones mouth so I'll just talk for myself. I personally am very excited for this match, not just because I get to really introduce myself to you party people, but because I get to be inside of that ring consistently. Which is going to be amazing for you and me both." Wink.
"Lets get down to business though. I need to talk about my opponents. I'm not gonna be that asshole that talks down to their opponents, I don't see the point in that because I'd rather do my talking inside of the ring. Not to mention I know little to nothing about the women I'm facing. All I know is what google could tell me so I'll try and do my best with what I've got. Ciara Rose is a girl that seems to have a lot of friends around here, Heather Jones, Kat Jones, Marisol Jones, I mean she is really taking the phrase "keeping up with the Jones'" very literally." She laughs to herself again. "Get it? Are you guys on board yet?" Lucy shrugs. "Her having all those friends is admittedly a little intimidating considering I basically know no one. So that's fun. What that says to me about Ciara though is that she has a lot of people around her to help her push herself and I'm a little jealous of that. I mean I have my share of friends but a lot of my friends are traveling the country and a lot of them are even traveling the world so I have to motivate myself and want to make myself better, which I think I do pretty damn well. When I see something that I want to do I push myself to take it and I'm just thinking if you have that same philosophy AND you have a bunch of people around you to push you I'm pretty excited to get into the ring with you because I know you will be putting up a tough fight." Lucy nods her head.
"Then there is Danni Thompson, who calls herself the "tommy gun". Which I would like to assume is because of her Chicago Roots, but it also could be because she thought it sounded cool, who knows. What I do know is that Danni has some shit on her plate. Rumor has it she's here for revenge on someone and me thinks that could get in the way of some shit. I'm not here to speak for her though so I can't say for sure. What I can say is that I know that my focus is laser pointed towards a win, because that's what's going to get me going in this company. I mean sure I could still lose and look good but winning is always just a little more of a security blanket. Which is why I will only take winning as my answer next Wednesday. As I said before I don't really know these girls that I'm going up against, I don't have a lot of footage to watch of them and so I'm kind of going in blind here. What I do know though is that I am going to give my all in my debut match, not just because I want to look good to those that are higher up, but because that's just how I like to do business." Lucy shrugged with a smile.
"I hope that all of you plan on tuning in for the pre-show and then stay for the after party because things are going to get real and I mean that in the best way possible. I'm ready to put on a show. A show that will allow all of you lovely people out there in internet land to see what I have to offer and a show that will allow me the chance to push myself to the next level. You won't want to miss it, because when I'm in the building, you know things are going to get "Wylde"." Lucy grins and with a wink we fade to black.
